A Visionary Leader
As a previous law enforcement officer, Dr. Powell held positions in the Georgia public school system and at the Georgia Institute of Technology. That day job, however, did not deter him from kingdom assignment. Today, as a full-time pastor and music artist, Dr. Powell consistently finds opportunities to mentor the next generation of leaders in any arena that he enters by way of relationship, counseling, and music.
Dr. Powell is an advocate for furthering education. To date, he holds his associate and bachelor’s degrees in Theology from Moriah Institute of Christian Studies and his master’s and doctorate degrees in Biblical Studies from North Carolina College of Theology. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Philosphy from North Carolina College of Theology. As Dr. Powell continues his education, he also encourages his members to further their education.
To turn aspirations into reality, Dr. Powell created eAcademy, an online learning platform where his congregation can learn kingdom principles and the values of Encounter Atlanta. Additionally, he continuously sows into the lives of the Encounter Legacy Academy, which teaches foundational kingdom and educational curriculum to Encounter’s young children.
Dr. Powell is destined to disrupt culture. With a heart for God’s people and an unrivaled work ethic, he will always find a way to reach, teach, and develop God’s people, no matter their background, race, or socioeconomic status.
